Mutton Haleem Recipe Easy Cooking at Home for EID

Haleem is a world famous Arabic dish. It is high calorie dish with full of nutrients. This dish is mainly prepared during the holy Islamic month of Ramadan. Hyderabadi haleem is very famous, and it is even exported to various countries from here. Let us see how to make this delicious haleem at home.

Ingredients Required for Preparing Haleem

  • Mutton (Boneless) – 300gms
  • Wheat – 200gms
  • Onions – 3
  • Lemon – 2
  • Green Chillies – 20gms
  • Ginger – 2 inch peice
  • Garlic – 7 Flakes
  • Garam Masala – 2 Tsp
  • Salt – As per taste
  • Cooking Oil – 100gms

Method for Preparing Haleem

  1. Firstly, take a bowl and add wheat and water in it. Soak it for about 2hours.
  2. Meanwhile, clean the mutton thoroughly.
  3. Grind green chillies, ginger, garlic, and salt together.
  4. Take a bowl and add the above ground paste and mutton to it. Leave it for marination for an hour.
  5. Take pressure cooker and add the soaked wheat and marinated mutton to it. Cook it for about 45 minutes.
  6. After cooking is done, mince and grind the mixture finely.
  7. Now finely slice the onions and keep aside.
  8. Take a pan, and add oil to it. Heat it on a medium flame.
  9. Now add the finely sliced onion pieces, and fry till they turn into golden brown color.
  10. Now add garam masala to it.
  11. Now the grounded mutton mixture to it and fry it on a simmer flame with continuous stirring.
  12. Fry it till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  13. Turn off the stove and take it into a separate bowl.
  14. Your delicious haleem ready. Serve it with lemon wedge.
