Traditional Badam Halwa Secret Indian Desert Recipe

Badam halwa (Almond Sweet) is one the favorite delicious desserts of India. This Indian sweet recipe tastes wonderful not only when it is hot, but also when it is cold. This is so yummy…. when you keep it in mouth,… It just melts… It is very simple and easy to prepare. Let us see how to prepare this yummy badam halwa at home.

Ingredients Required for Preparing Badam Halwa

  • Badam – 200Gms
  • Milk – 1/2 Cup
  • Sugar – 1 Cup
  • Elachi Powder – 1/2 Tsp
  • Kacha Karpoor (Borneo Camphor) – A Pinch
  • Ghee – 1 Cup
  • Cashew nuts (for garnishing)

Method for Preparing Badam Halwa

  1. Take a small bowl and add water into it.
  2. Add badam to it and leave it for soaking for 4 hours. Remember that all badams should be completely immersed into water.
  3. Meanwhile take a pan and add oil to it. Heat it on a medium flame and fry cashew nuts. Once they turn into golden brown color, take them into a separate plate and keep aside.
  4. After that take the badam from the bowl and peel off the skin of watch badam.
  5. Add these badam and 1/2 cup milk to grinder jar and grind them together.
  6. Take this ground mixture into a bowl and add suger to it. Mix them well.
  7. Take a pan (preferably 1 inch height pan) and add this ground badam mixture.
  8. Heat it on a medium flame with continuous stirring for 5 minutes.
  9. Now pour ghee, elachi powder, and kacha karpoor powder to it and heat it with continuous stirring.
  10. Take a small part of the mixture with a spoon and check whether it is sticking to your fingers or not.
  11. Turn off the flame, once the mixture does not sticks to your finger.
  12. Take the halwa mixture into a plate and leave it for cooling.
  13. If you want you can serve it like it itself, or else if you want to serve it as pieces, spread it on a plate and cut it into pieces with a ghee applied knife.
  14. Garnish it with kept aside fried cashew nuts.
  15. Your badam halwa is ready to get served.
