Crab Roast Recipe Super Spicy South Indian Dish

Crab roast recipe is a delicious spicy sea food recipe, which is very famous in southern part of India. This is very famous especially in Kerala. This goes very well with white rice. If you want you can even have it with roti. Let us learn how to cook this Crab Roast at home.

Ingredients Required for Preparing Crab Roast Recipe

  • Crabs – 4
  • Shallots – 10 (Crushed)
  • Green Chillies – 5
  • Ginger – A small piece
  • Garlic – 2 Cloves
  • Cumin Seeds – 1 Tsp
  • Pepper Corns – 12
  • Curry Leaves – 2 Stems
  • Turmeric Powder – A pinch
  • Cooking Oil
  • Salt – As per the taste

Method for Preparing Crab Roast Recipe

  1. Take the grinder jar and add green chillies, garlic cloves, small piece of ginger, cumin seeds and pepper corns to it and grind them to paste. Take this paste into small plate and keep aside.
  2. Cut each crab into two halves without removing the shells. Apply turmeric powder to it and clean them thoroughly with water.
  3. Take a pan and add 2 table spoons of cooking oil (If you like, you can even use coconut oil instead of cooking oil).
  4. Heat it on a medium flame and add crushed shallots to it. Fry them till it turns into golden brown color.
  5. Now add pinch of turmeric powder, and kept aside grounded paste and fry the complete mixture for a minute with continuous stirring.
  6. Now add the crab pieces, curry leaves and two more table spoons of cooking oil and cover the pan with lid.
  7. Allow it for cooking for 12 to 15 minutes.
  8. Once the cooking is done, take it into a separate bowl.
  9. Your delicious crab roast is ready for serving.
